Centreline turns 45

9 October 2026

What happened

This year Centreline turns 45. Since 1981 we have designed and built product handling equipment and complete production lines for food and pharmaceutical manufacturers, here in Melbourne. Today that work happens in our workshop in Berwick.

Why it matters

A lot has changed in 45 years. What started with food handling machines now includes robotic ultrasonic slab cutting, case packing and palletising, and plasma debagging lines running in some of the biggest plasma processing centres in the world.

What hasn’t changed is how we start every project: understand the product first, then build the machine around it.

To say more clearly what we do today, you’ll now see us as Centreline Automation. Same company, same team, same workshop.

What’s next

We are focusing on three flagships:

  • Plasma: automated plasma bag and bottle opening, and complete plasma lines.
  • Slab line: topping and ultrasonic robotic cutting for slabs and bars.
  • End of Line: case packing, inspection and palletising for small and mid-size manufacturers.

Our TCP-6 demonstrator is available now for quick delivery.

Thank you to our customers, our team and our partners for every one of those 45 years. If you have a product that’s hard to handle, tell us about it.
